Make It: Rosemary-Infused Vodka Wedding Party Gift

For this almost-too-easy-to-be-true gift idea, our designer Danielle put her homegrown (read: Brooklyn-apartment-fire-escape-grown) rosemary to use. Vodka infusion makes a toast-ready favor for a wedding party or a lovely hostess gift, using rosemary or another herb such as mint, tarragon, or thyme. Danielle’s Makr-made tag completes it with a sweet design on the front and easy cocktail recipe on the back.

The night before you give this, funnel vodka into gifting vessels–we used 1L swingtop bottles–before adding a couple rosemary sprigs to each. You’ll want to tell your recipients to remove the rosemary from their bottles after a day or two.

Danielle made a personalized message for the front of the tag and chose a cheers-worthy drink recipe for the back, tying the tags around the bottlenecks with baker’s twine. We think the rosemary infusion works best in a savory cocktail. Here are a few of our picks:

    1. For a rosemary infused vodka martini, simply add a splash of vermouth and a squeeze of lemon juice to the vodka in a chilled martini glass. (lemonsandanchovies.com)
    2. Garnished with celery, rosemary, and goat cheese stuffed olives, this take on the classic Bloody Mary is practically a meal in a glass. (vegetarianventures.com)
    3. Yum. Joy the Baker combines sweet and savory in this rosemary lime cocktail. (joythebaker.com)
